MAKE UP CLASSES

ASYNCHRONOUS DAYS

DISTANCE LEARNING - QUARANTINE - ASYNCHRONOUS DAYS THE BASIS OF GRADING

(MAKE-UP) ASYNCHRONOUS Forms - These are documents that are embedded in the assignments located in the classwork section of the Phys. Ed. Google Classroom. The forms can be clicked upon, enlarged, and allow students to type in the information about their physical activity(date, description, adult name). Once the information is entered, the student will click the “turn in” tab(upper right) and the teacher will receive the form.

Asynchronous days count as PE days - All students who have PE on the day are expected to turn in a Form THAT INCLUDES THE DIRECTED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY for the day.

THESE FORMS ARE LOCATED IN THE CLASSWORK SECTION OF THE PHYS. ED. GOOGLE CLASSROOM.

Make-up Policy

In-person students in PE class during the week do not have to turn in forms unless absent from class.

If a student is absent from PE class, he/she will be expected to make up the class time, and so will need to “Turn in” a form(s) for each absence.

-Students excused from school for COVID are not required to make up PE classes.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS/STUDENTS NEED TO INFORM TEACHER OF THIS.

Make up privileges are allowed for missed classes/points due to absences from school, medical excuses, or excused absences from class.

In order to receive full credit for a missed class, students must make up any missed Physical Education Class(es); EXCEPT those missed because of a medical excuse that is certified by a medical professional. A “no count” grade may be entered. Students with extended medicals may receive an M. Credit lost due to lack of effort or behavioral reasons, or other expectations related to the attainment of standards as indicated in the PE curriculum or posted Rubrics(expectations) are NOT subject to make-up.

To make up a missed class:

Students need to fill in and then “turn in” a PE Make up Form in the classwork section of their google classroom. Please consult with the teacher if clarification is needed.

Late work….Make-ups should be turned in to the teacher by the end of the quarter.

Monitor your Progress

Parents and students may access the Skyward student portal to monitor their grade throughout the course. Grades that fall below 70 percent during the quarter may warrant contact with, or from, your child’s teacher to become aware of how the student needs to make up work or better meet class expectations. Also, contact will be made by way of a mid quarter progress report.
