: a studio is an opportunity for students to learn and demonstrate learning and skills. Studios are based on competencies and are organized by Milestones and Stepping Stones. A Milestone is a collection of stepping stones.
In the example, look at Milestone 1. Inside it has stepping stones (StS 1-- 4)
You will go through a studio a Milestone at a time. You will do tasks, go to sessions with teachers, submit tasks to Slate. By the end of the studio, you will have completed a Performance Task and worked on your skill development, showing Mastery of the Competencies aimed at in the Studio you were working on.

: competencies are big statements about what a student can do. There are competencies in all the subject areas. To see them, pick a subject below.
Under the competencies, there are skills. The skills are pieces of the competency.
Under the skill, there are descriptors. They describe what students do to show they have a skill. If they have all the skills for their level, they have mastered the competency!
