Better cause Donation Project
Last year, I started a donation project with my friend, Muskan. We made social media account named “ForBettercause” to support and donate to nonprofit organizations in Thailand. The primary goal is to raise awareness in order to encourage charitable giving. I wanted to do this because I wanted to help people, particularly during the pandemic when things are difficult and my small contribution could have a significant impact on someone's life. The social media account is primarily run by me and I have posted images and quotations to raise awareness among the locals. To encourage students and teachers to wear reusable masks, our first initiative involved selling cloth masks. We made about a thousand baht and used it to purchase stationery for the children.

Investigation
As a first step, we looked into charities and various organizations that we could support, and we found the "Go Happiness Center" in Onnut. It is a nonprofit group that offers children and families living in poverty in Thailand access to health and educational resources.
We then started to plan out what we should donate and how we will raise money (google meets& meeting after school to discuss)
Things we planned to donate
Books, toys, clothes, and shoes
Necessities for girls like hair combs, toothbrushes, blazers, hair ties, masks, and reusable cups
Snacks for the children
Workshops /Events
Wells without Walls
Preparation
Google presentations to organize our thoughts and ideas
Designing logos /posts for our social media account
Action
On December 4th, 2021, we visited the “Go Happiness Centre” located in Onnut to know how we could help them and what kind of things we could donate. For our first visit, we brought some toys, books, and clothes to donate to help those in need. We also had a great time talking with the founder of the organization knowing more about how it works and what inspired them.
We decided to open a donation drive to help the organization, it was pretty successful because few people wanted to donate some of their stuff
For our second visit, we bought some essentials for girls in the orphanage from the money we raised from the workshop

Reflection
I have learned a lot about life and the importance of always supporting those in need throughout this project. There were some challenging moments when setting up a workshop or a booth, but it taught me how to work with others and some crucial skills such as time management, responsibility, organization, and leadership. Though difficult initially, everything eventually helped me find who I am and acquire new abilities. Meeting new people was enjoyable, and helping nonprofit organizations directly made me feel good.
