Varsity Boys Volleyball

Due to the circumstances this year we did not manage to get much game time. We played in the AISAA League and we also played in friendly tournaments such as the ISB Volleyball Tournament and the Nist Volleyball Tournament. These tournaments were very competitive and we enjoyed participating as a team. We came first place in the Nist tournament and in the ISB tournament as well which was done through very tough games. These tournaments were emotional wins because of the hard work and commitment we as a team showed throughout the games.

Once lockdown started one major goal I had was to get more fit and lean by only doing workouts at my home. So I decided to make a plan to do 50 sit-ups, 50 push-ups, 20 pull-ups, and 50 squats everyday for one month. I began My journey on the 14th of April and will complete it on the 14th of May. This challenge was very tough for me as at home there is always a big urge to be lazy especially when you are alone. Obtaining a nice physique and good body strength is something that is not very easy and it took me a lot of mental fortitude and persistence to be able to complete this challenge. Around 15 days in, I began to get used to the challenge and would even had the urge to complete it. This motivation helped me push through and now I am much stronger than I was a month ago and I have built a much better physique.

For the past 2 months, I have been going to the gym around 4-5 times a week. Ever since the winter break had begun a friend came to visit Bangkok during his break from university and I used this opportunity to learn how to weight lift with him as he was already experienced. After the first week of weightlifting, I had decided to plan and create a workout plan for me for the rest upcoming weeks. I had to incorporate aspects such as diet, workout variations, rest days, supplements, etc. Planning all this out helped me create a new routine in my life in which I greatly enjoyed participating in and also shows benefits to my mental and physical health. I have gained significant muscle mass and strength from this experience. I have had experience working out in the past, but most of this experience derived from sports fitness or at home workouts. However, going to an actual gym and doing proper resistance training was a new experience for me and I am glad that I had chosen to partake in it. This is something that I hope to continue to do for the rest of my life.
