Reflection:
I started volunteering at ECB five years ago and a lot has changed since then. In all honesty, I initially wanted to volunteer there because I didn't quite like sitting in the service with my parents because I would often fall asleep. I thought that teaching younger children would be a great way to pass time. However, I realised that I actually do (occasionally) like teaching children and working with other people despite my introverted tendencies. I feel that volunteering here has shaped me as a person considering the fact that I spent a large part of my youth here.

Reflection (cont.):
On days when I'm volunteering, I would have to prepare the necessary materials, plan the activities, manage the children, and work with my peers to figure out what's best. Though I enjoy the position I'm currently at, I would definitely like to try teaching older children (perhaps middle schoolers).

Participating in this internship definitely made me step outside of my comfort zone and helped me in the process of exploring my interests. During this internship, a peer and I were able to watch nurses perform blood tests, talk with doctors, and manage the business side of the clinic.
This experience was another one of my favourite experiences. My friends and I had a lot of fun interacting with the children who were hard of hearing. Although they were older than we expected, we were still able to enjoy our time together in the end. We made origami hearts and cranes and played UNO together.
