Laps For Learning October 13th
To our wonderful Tozer community,
On Thursday, October 13th, our students will take on the challenge of our annual district-wide fundraiser; Laps for Learning. We are excited to tie our fundraiser to health and wellness. 100% of ALL proceeds earned will stay at Tozer, and this is our ONLY large-scale fundraiser for the year.
Tozer has agreed to spend the funds earned on our outdoor learning spaces and adaptive sports equipment to support students' physical activity and creativity. We will also earmark funds for health and wellness supplies. Our school fundraising goal is $13,000! We can obtain that goal if every child fundraises only $25.00 in pledges!
Each child will need to collect pledges in the form of a flat donation for the laps he/she will walk/run during school on October 13th. Students should collect the money at the same time they contact family, friends, and neighbors to sponsor them. Checks should be payable to Tozer Primary School and all donations are tax-deductible.
All money and pledge sheets should be returned to the teacher in the manila envelope provided by October 13th.
You can donate via our secure online platform by visiting https://tinyurl.com/tozerlaps22 or via the QR code below
If you have any questions regarding the fundraiser or would like to help, please contact the Tozer office at 970-686-8400.
Sincerely,
Tozer Fundraising Committee

Community Engagement
EMPOWER Applications Open Through October 7
We’re excited to announce that a new EMPOWER cohort will begin October 27. This community engagement program provides an in-depth and behind-the-scenes look at various facets of our district. At seven monthly sessions, you’ll have an opportunity to learn about a different topic, experience demonstrations or tours from students and staff, and engage in dialogue and Q&As. To learn more or to apply, visit our webpage.
Pictures From Preschool
Preschoolers in Miss Mady's room play a game after reading Pete the Cat and his White Shoes. They graphed the color of their shoes and found that the majority of friends were wearing grey shoes.
Preschoolers are learning to cooperate with one another by playing with the parachute during recess. All friends need to hold on to the parachute and work together.
This cute preschooler is learning all about the magnifying glass and how it helps with sight. As students explored their 5 senses, they used a variety of tools to explore their world.
Preschool students watched one of our neighbors sunflowers grow from the playground. She donated it to them so they could look at it up close to discover all the seeds, petals, leaves and bugs.

Nutrition Services
As we previously shared, federal funding for free school meals was not renewed this year, and paid school meals have resumed. Your children may qualify to receive free school meals if they:
Receive SNAP, FDPIR, or TANF.
Are a foster child under the legal responsibility of a foster care agency or the court.
Attend a Head Start program.
Meet the definition of homeless, runaway, or migrant.
Have a qualifying income, for example for the 2022-2023 school year, a family of four that earns less than $51,338 per year.
We encourage you to apply now for free school meals. Paper applications are available at all schools and the District Office (1020 Main Street, Windsor, CO). You only need to fill out one application per household. You will need to complete the application every school year, even if you filled out the application in previous years.
For more information or for questions, please contact me at 970-686-8018 or email allissa.papendick@weldre4.org.
Sincerely,
