Participating in SEA-Teacher was an experience that completely changed my perspective on being a teacher. At first, I arrived feeling nervous, with many questions, and of course, lacking confidence. But slowly, through classroom observation, team teaching, and three demo teaching sessions, I learned that teaching is not just about delivering topics but about building connections.

Every lesson plan I prepared, every icebreaker I did, every question asked by students, all shaped my own learning process. I learned how to manage a class, how to explain mathematical concepts more simply, and how to deal with students with different personalities.

Outside of class, cultural experiences such as Dinagyang, visiting museums, learning about hablon, and going on weekend trips made me realize that education is never separate from culture. I not only learned about the education system in the Philippines, but also about their values, customs, and how they cherish their traditions.

The closing ceremony felt bittersweet proud, emotional, and disbelieving that time had passed so quickly. But what stood out most were the memories, experiences, and the confidence that had grown within me.

This program wasn’t just about teaching abroad. It was about growing.
