A checklist will be used to define learning outcomes and assess how students met the identified learning goal outcomes throughout the unit. When evaluating student work, the teacher will use the checklist to systematically evaluate each criterion.  This is also a great way for the teacher to give students feedback on the work they completed for the unit by referring back to the checklist.
