Hiring Front Desk and Snack Bar Staff
The summer season begins Memorial Day weekend and runs through Labor Day.
Working at Waugh Chapel Swim Club is a great opportunity to work outside in the summer sun! While the job is rewarding and fun, it comes with a great deal of responsibility too. Duties may include greeting and checking in members and guests at the front desk, enforcing pool bylaws/rules, answering the phone, fulfilling snack bar orders, handling money, and helping to maintain order at both the front desk and snack bar.
Flexible hours; daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday work is required. Hours per week will vary based on operational needs, and generally 10-15 hours (2-3 shifts). Hands-on training is provided. We offer competitive pay, and will be offered at a level consistent with the experience and qualifications of the candidate. Job Functions
What you will do with us:
Assist with daily operation, maintenance, and customer service.
Enforce pool bylaws; ensure visitors have a safe and pleasant experience.
Greet visitors, answer the telephone, check in members and guests
Routine administrative tasks.
Provide service to members and guests courteously and efficiently.
Prepare and serve snack bar items.
Clean the snack bar area, including refrigerator, freezers, microwaves, sinks, and picnic area.
Restock inventory as needed.
Take inventory daily and notify the manager of any items needed.
Able to work POS system
Maintain an accurate count of money in the snack bar drawer.
Complete snack bar cash report at the end of the day and give report and cash to Manager on Duty.
Perform maintenance as assigned by the Manager on Duty.
Arrive ready to work (including closed toed shoes for snack bar area). In the event of a work schedule conflict, secure an approved substitute, and complete the substitute form.
Report all maintenance problems to the Manager on Duty immediately.
Maintain a neat appearance and alert state of mind at all times. Focus attention on snack bar activities.
Perform necessary cleaning duties to provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment.
Represent WCSC well when away from the pool in all other activities.
What you will need to be considered:
A positive, customer-focused attitude.
Ability to deal with customers professionally, diplomatically, and courteously.
Be dependable, reliable, and punctual with a high level of maturity.
Ability to use good judgment and enforce rules and regulations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
At least 15 years of age by the time of hire.
Some comparable work or volunteer experience, or participation in one or more recreation activities, preferred.
Able to work full season, 10-15 hours a week
