Happy New Year WCSC Families,
We made it through the holidays and hope all members are healthy and keeping safe. As the new year begins, the Board of Directors is taking on many projects for the upcoming season. Our much needed pool construction has begun, but our maintenance dues are remaining the same this year.
With that said, maintenance fee payment in EZ Facility will start today. If you would like to pay by credit card and take advantage of the early bird discount, please log into your account, go to “Buy”, then “Memberships”. Add to your cart and then checkout.
A 3% processing fee will be added to payments made by credit card.
If you would like to pay by check or do the two payment option, all checks must be mailed to our PO Box (see below for address). A handling fee of $25 will be charged for all returned checks.
Early Bird Discount of $635: MUST BE PAID NO LATER THAN 3/1/26
Full Payment of $660: Paid between 3/2/26 - 4/1/26
We do offer a two-payment option: (made by check ONLY, cannot be paid on EZF site). Checks must be mailed to PO Box 212 Gambrills, MD 21054 For this option, $330 is due by March 1, 2026, and $330 due by April 1, 2026
Any accounts with a balance due on April 2, 2026 will accrue a late fee. Transfers/Sales of permanent membership will NOT be processed until any and all accrued late fees are paid first.
Late Fees will apply to unpaid memberships:
April 2: $50 late fee assessed
May 2: $100 late fee assessed
May 16: $200 late fee assessed
June 1: Forfeiture of membership

Happy New Year Waugh Chapel Swim Club Family,
The board has been working to better enhance the pool for our future. It starts with the construction that is currently going on at the pool. Years of neglect and several continuous issues are creating additional costs each year. The board obtained 3 quotes and voted to contract with American Pools (AP) to do a main pool repair and renovation at the pool. The final 3 pump filters will be replaced that were all over 15 years old. The piping with the pump house will also be replaced. Since the start of construction, unforeseen structural damage was identified. Which could have gotten a lot worse over the next couple of pool seasons. The filtration system was under performing as well. Once we have completed the upgrades the pool will be like new! It will serve the WCSC family for the foreseeable future.
Below you will see some changes to the bylaws that were voted on and approved by the board. We are not raising dues this year. We secured a bank loan with good terms to pay for the construction repairs and updates. We intend to pay off this loan in about 6 years total time. Please review the bolded and underlined areas within the email below for the ByLaw updates. ARTICLE VII – MEMBERSHIP
A. Types of Membership. The membership of WCSC consists of four types: Permanent, Annual, August/September Temporary, and Sports:

2. Annual Membership: An annual temporary membership is offered to allow families new to the community exposure to the WCSC for one year before deciding to become permanent members. Permanent membership is not guaranteed after the expiration of the annual temporary membership. Annual memberships are limited in number each season and are available for one season only, per household. Annual temporary members have no voting privileges.
3. August/September Membership: This temporary membership is offered to help sustain the pool operations and maintenance during times of historically low (25-30% below rest of season daily average attendance) membership attendance during the month of August and through the end of the season. This membership will allow families an opportunity to participate in the pool activities as a temporary member. This membership category will have no voting privileges and will be limited in number each season. If the annual membership dinner and elections occur during this time, then that event will be a black-out timeframe for this membership category.

B. Number of Memberships
1. There will be a limit of seven hundred (700) memberships in good standing, with not more than Five Hundred Seventy Five (575) being permanent memberships.

C. Dues/Fees

2. For permanent members, the yearly maintenance fee is due on April 1 of each year. The BOD may establish a discount for early payment at a time of its choosing. Payments made after April 1 will be assessed a $50 late fee. Payments received after May 1 shall be assessed a late fee of $100.00. Payments received after May 15 shall be assessed a late fee of $200.00. Memberships not paid by June 1 will be forfeited per section 3 below.

D. Payment Procedures. Detailed procedures for payment of all annual dues and fees can be found on the WCSC website. A 3% processing fee will be added on to payments made with credit cards. A minimum handling fee of twenty-five (25) dollars will be charged for all returned checks (i.e. stop payment, insufficient funds, closed account, etc.). The BOD has the authority to temporarily defer the payment of annual dues, if the hardship appears to be one of temporary nature. Any membership having just cause to request deferment of payment of dues shall submit a request, in writing, to the BOD. If the BOD approves a temporary deferment, then the membership is considered delinquent and family members will not be authorized to use the WCSC facilities until all fees are paid in full. No fees will be waived.
Additional information will be forthcoming regarding payment of membership dues. We will be opening up the portal to pay your dues early this year. We are just currently working out a few issues. Please check facebook, emails and the pool sign for when the portal will be open.
