Library Media Program Portfolio

About the Scotts Ridge Elementary Library:

The Scotts Ridge Elementary Library's mission is to provide open, equitable access to information and media for all students, teachers, and parents. We aim to provide highly engaging, rigorous opportunities for every student that foster creativity, collaboration, and growth in order to prepare them to become lifelong learners.

The Scotts Ridge Elementary MTAC team began when the school opened in 2015. The initial focus of the team was largely on familiarizing staff with the new technology at the new school. Beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, we are ready to begin focusing on using the media and technology resources in our building to increase rigor in curriculum and instruction across the school building.

Defining a Strong School Library Program:

A strong school library program is a partnership made up of school leadership, the school community, and led by the school librarian.

The school library functions as the “hub” of the school. A strong school library program builds connections in these key areas to empower learners: Curriculum and Instruction, Equity and Cultural Competency, Use of Space and Time, Family and Community Partnerships, Budget and Resources, Professional Learning, Technology and Infrastructure, Data and Privacy.
