Dr. sulzbach during 7th grade in 1997.
Hello, I’m Dr. Sulzbach and I’m Pine Hollow’s school psychologist. I help support the students and teachers by problem-solving, directly and indirectly. I split my time between PHMS and WYWLA- the Women’s Leadership Academy. I love my work because every day is different and my tasks vary significantly, although the main ideas are improving academic achievement, promoting positive behavior and mental health, supporting diverse learners, creating positive school climates, strengthening family-school partnerships, and working to improve and monitor school and individual assessment and accountability.
On a personal note, I am a hippie from Woodstock, New York and have lived in NC since 2009, as a “half back” after a few years in Florida. I am an animal lover and have dogs and a horse, but I would have many more pets if it weren’t for my husband, Drew, who keeps me in check. I am always willing to help where possible or just listen, so please don’t hesitate to reach out. Additional information about the role of school psychologists can be found at www.nasponline.org/about-school-psychology/who-are-school-psychologists .

I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Studies with a concentration in Information Technology at Barry University in North Miami Shores, Fl.
I am married to a wonderful husband of twenty plus years. We have a fur baby (Chocolate Lab) who is spoiled rotten. I started my career in Information Technology in Miami working for Miami Dade County for twenty years. In 1999 we relocated to Charlotte, NC and lived there for one year, while in Charlotte, NC I worked for Mecklenburg County School system till we relocated to Raleigh, NC.
I continued my career in Information Technology in Raleigh working for First Citizens Bank (Data Center) as a Programmer for 15 years. I resigned from First Citizens Bank in 2018 and took a year off from working. I decided to pursue WCPSS and substitute teach. I ended up taking a substitute teaching position at Pine Hollow Middle School. I love helping people, so I decided to apply for Instructional Assistant position at Pine Hollow Middle School. I then pursued the Student Services position, where I am currently and I really enjoy what I do for the kids at Pine Hollow Middle School.
Hobbies
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, friends, traveling, shopping, walking, listening to music and watching TV (Seinfeld, Friends, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Lifetime).
