Once Upon a Time

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Once Upon a Time is a 9-week elective that takes an in-depth look at the stories that children are told by society and how they are told. This course invites students to seek out pleasurable reading experiences by reading nursery rhymes, fairy tales, and more. This course is for both the avid reader and the person who wants to read, but who has difficulty choosing interesting books to read. Even though Once Upon a Time may focus on children’s literature, it should show students that it is always okay to read their favorite stories at any age. And perhaps, this course will even inspire students to tell their own stories. No prior knowledge is required, but it is encouraged that students seek out more information on topics they enjoy throughout the course.
