Phonemic Awareness/Heggerty: Students will be recognizing and producing rhyming words, isolating phonemes for consonants, and vowels, blending words with 2-3 phonemes, blending, segmenting, adding, deleting, and substituting within syllables, isolating initial, medial and final sounds, and adding, deleting, and substituting initial phonemes. Students will recognize and produce rhymes, blend and segment r blends and mixed blends, isolate final and medial sounds along with phoneme location. Students will add, delete, substitute initial phonemes. They will be introduced to rimes.
Word Recognition/Letterland: Students will learn the sound/spelling relationships for the sound of /all/, double consonants (ff,ll,ss), initial consonant blends (s,l,r), final blends (nd, nt, sk, st, nk, ng) and long vowels with silent e (a, i, o).
