Core Goals: We advocate for campus inclusion and cultural awareness while having a wonderful space to connect, learn, grow and fellowship! ALL STUDENTS OF ALL BACKGROUNDS ARE WELCOMED!

Activities: We host general body meetings, professional workshops, cultural programming, mentoring, and community service initiatives and most of all have a safe place to have fun and fellowship!

AMPIANO

Amapiano is a popular style of electronic house music that originated in South Africa in the early 2010s

Origins and Meaning

Name: The word amapiano translates from the Zulu language to mean "the pianos".
Location: The genre started in the urban townships of South Africa, such as Soweto and Pretoria.
Growth: It evolved from deep house and kwaito music before spreading across the globe in the 2020s

Musical Style

Tempo: The music plays at a slow, groovy pace, usually between 110 and 120 beats per minute (BPM).
Log Drum: The core feature is a heavy, raw log drum that acts as a deep bassline with a powerful kick effect.
Melodies: Songs feature smooth electric piano riffs, airy vocals, and rich percussion like shakers and congas
