Parents, Families, Students and Staff - please enjoy this resource page dedicated to celebrating and learning more about Hispanic Heritage Month! Let's celebrate together! Sra. Barbee
Instead of our Word of the Day over the announcements, please enjoy this quick reference guide that has popular words AND phrases.
What is Hispanic Heritage Month?
Beginning in mid-September, the celebrations coincide with national independence days in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Mexico, and Chile. It celebrates the diversity and contributions of Latinas and Hispanics in all genres from politics, to music, literature, entertainment, art and education to our country and the world! More than 60 million people identify as Hispanic or Latina according to the latest US Census. Not just ONE culture, it is a diverse group of many cultures that add richness to our American culture! Viva la vida!
Our Spanish Classes at Mills Park
Each class is named after a Hispanic dish. Is your amigo a Taco or a Churro?? Ask the students about their Spanish class and learn from them! Have you tried any of these dishes? Which one is your favorite? Ms. Barbee LOVES them ALL! Click the links below to see authentic recipes and make these dishes en casa (at home)!
