For the 2019-2020 school year, the MTAC will continue to use the results of the previous year's audit to drive collection development decisions. The student MTAC will continue to advise on collection development and programming decisions in order to amplify historically marginalized voices, and promote literature and informational texts that reflect the lives, experiences, and interests of all students.
December 2019, Student MTAC sponsored the Bulldog Book Talk. The students wrote announcements and created Google Forms for sign up purposes. Both students and teachers volunteered to book talk, and over 50 students attended!
The implementation of the student MTAC has been very successful this year. The group has taken on a very important role in both collection development and programming.
The Donors Choose grant was fully funded, and HGMS received 10 copies each of seven different titles for book clubs focused on understanding and appreciating differences in others. All titles were researched and selected by the student MTAC.
The Bulldog Book Talk event was very well attended and resulted in many books being checked out for the winter break.
Student MTAC was responsible for updating the biography section.

The 2019-2020 school year was disrupted by a Global Pandemic in March, 2020. The entire focus of the rest of the year was getting technology to students, providing remote instruction while learning how to teach remotely, and keeping students connected to our school.
A student and parent website was built to support remote learning. (Edited for 20-21)
A collection of student poetry was gathered to allow for reflection on the pandemic.
A collection of Read-Alouds by staff were collected for the Regional Programs students.
