What If Student Is Tracked Out Or Absent?
*Due to short session times, we ask that students NOT come in to the school over their Track Out.*
Students can still participate remotely one time during the week with the assistance of their families. Please record mileage distance traveled in 30 minutes or less. Send name/distance data to cblischok@wcpss.net, Talking Points, or have student bring in data upon return to school.
The Plan:
Meet In Gym: Sign In / Warmup / Light Stretching
Back Field / Gym (inclement weather): Run / Walk / Jog / Cool Down / Tally Laps
Lobby Area: Sign Out
Distance Tracking:
Track and record individual student distances
Milestone Markers awarded to individuals for: 1 Mile, 5K, 5 Miles, 10 Miles, Half Marathon (13.1 Miles), 15 Miles, 20 Miles, Full Marathon (26.2 Miles), etc.
Chart distance traveled by Club (a physical map will be displayed in the school and updated weekly)

Properly fitting athletic shoes. The track surface is uneven in several places. (Please, no crocs / sandals / boots!)
Water bottle (We will stop at restroom and water fountains at beginning / end - not during)
Pick Up:
Students in Raleigh Parks & Rec. After Care will be returned to the cafeteria.
All other students will be brought back inside to the Front Lobby for signout.
Students must be picked up by 5:00 pm. Please walk to Front Entrance to physically sign out your child. (This is a free club that Coach B operates. Please respect his time.)
Additional Notes:
Please understand that membership in HCES Running Club is a privilege. Any student that demonstrates inappropriate behavior during school/run club, chooses not to participate, or is not picked up on time may be dismissed from the Run Club.
Method of Tracking: We use the Honor System. The student will pick up a popsicle stick each time a lap is completed. When time is up, total number of popsicle sticks are tallied for individual student.
We will keep a running record of laps completed for each student and distribute Milestone Markers later in the week.
Back Field: 6 Laps = 1 Mile
Gym: 35 Laps = 1 Mile (For safety purposes we will use multiple running groups. This will mean shorter run times on those days)
Earned by number of laps completed.
Totals are added on each week.
Markers handed out to Homeroom Teachers.
Colors may vary as they are created with HC 3D printers.
