Take Camera Bag and Tripod. Set camera on tripod to record entire game from as far back as possible. Don’t zoom in on players or teams, give a full field/half field view.
Take Camera Bag and Tripod. Set camera on tripod near 10 yardline, back 10 feet from field, to get the back of the defense. Don’t zoom in, we want to get the width of the field.
Try to capture the scoreboard at the end of each quarter.
Stop Videos with Time Outs to make clips smaller and easier to edit.
In football, also stop clock after scoring and Change of Possession (offense or defense runs off the field)
Don’t socialize, your voice will be heard on the camera by the coaches and players.
Be positive about our teams
Be considerate to the coaches and players and other fans.
Position the camera at center court and on the top row of the bleachers. This will give the best angle to film without people walking in front of the camera as they come and go during the game.
Keep the camera on wide view, don't zoom. This will allow the movement of all 10 players to be captured.
Don't zoom in on the ball handler or any one person. The movements of the other players are just as important, if not more, than the player with the ball.
Comments can be heard, so don't talk during the game. We don't want to mute the film because we need to hear the whistles.
You can pause for time outs. And stop the camera for half time and between the games.
Editing - Notice the computer you will use to edit. This will keep all files on that device for the year-end highlights video.
Attach your iPad to the Library iMac or one of the Mac Book Pros with a lightning cable.
Open iMovie. Choose the iPad name in the downloads area.
Video Editing - Watch this video. Or follow the steps on this page.
Save as two films, one for each half of the game. When finished, choose “Share” - and save to file. This will make a copy on the desktop for Mrs. Thrash to share on youtube or Google Drive.
