Mr. Acree

Hi Everyone! My name is Daniel Acree and I am so excited to be joining the new 5th Grade team at Barton Pond for this school year as the grade level Science/Social Studies teacher! 

I was born and raised in Roanoke Rapids, NC. I graduated from Nash Community College with an Associate of Arts Degree. I then continued my education at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte (Go Niners), where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and soon to be Masters (M.Ed in Elementary Education) with a concentration in AIG instruction! 

I was recently a UNC Charlotte finalist for "Student Teacher of the Year", where I was student teaching for the 2022-2023 academic year in 5th grade in Gaston County Schools. I have had the pleasure of working with all grade levels in all content areas over the past few years in various schools and districts across the Charlotte Metropolitan Area from Internships to being a Reading Intervention Teacher. However, 5th grade is my favorite! I'm looking forward to relocating to the Raleigh area and calling it home! In my free time; I enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends and running/exercising.

I believe strongly in creativity and collaboration and bringing in engaging, innovative and fun ways of learning through experiences and projects into the classroom. I cannot wait to be a part of the Barton Pond Family (Go Bullfrogs) and build positive relationships with my students, colleagues and families.
