The band is comprised of students 9-12 who perform various musical literature works such as standard band works, rock pieces, movies and many other styles of music.

The Orchestra is comprised of students 9-12 who perform various musical literature works such as standard string orchestra literature, folk songs, rock and movie pieces.

(Co-Curricular) Marching Band is open to all students at South Garner who play an instrument. Work is completed during a summer camp and also during various Class and Titan Time activities throughout the day. This ensures that every student gets to participate regardless of busing issues or other transportation issues. 

Color Guard is an extra-curricular group that meets two days a week after school throughout marching season as well as during the school year.

In its initial year, the Titan Jazz Ensemble is working to begin its repertoire of music. The group plays jazz standards, pop tunes, ballads and other selections that fit the limited size of this group. Jazz instrumentation is usually 5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones, piano, guitar, bass and drums.  

Percussion ensemble is an indoor group that meets as an extra-curricular group during the school year. They perform traditional percussion ensemble music as well as novelty pieces. Any member of SGHS can be a part of this group as long as they have a desire to learn percussion music.
