Clothes Closet
Clothes Closet
Our clothes closet is a place for students that are in need of clothes can go to get some free clothing items. Our clothes closet is run by Cameron Smith and she does a wonderful job of keeping it organized and clean.
CDC Crafts
A couple times each semester, members of our club go down to the CDC classroom to do crafts with the kids. We always have such a good time and so do they! Their most recent visit was to deliver valentine goodie bags and paint valentines! As always, a huge thank you to Sophia Gouge for organizing everything!
Nursing Home Christmas
Our Vice President, Olivia Verble, worked with Four Oaks Nursing Home to help adopt 22 residents for Christmas. Some of our club members shopped for their residents to make sure they would receive a Christmas present.
Into the Fire
Before Christmas break, our club went to Into the Fire in downtown JC. We all had such a good time painting and taking the time to get to know each other a little better!
Homecoming
Not necessarily a project, but it was a chance for Key Club members to shine! In the image on the left the members left to right: Sophia Gouge representing FISH, Eric Rice representing FFA, Raven Dixon representing Key Club, Baylee Barron representing Yearbook, Bella Ferguson representing FCA, and Kenley Green representing HOSA. On the right you will see pictures of each representative walking (in the same order they are listed). And finally on the end is the Homecoming Queen, Bella Ferguson! Congratulations to all the representatives who competed! Plus a huge shoutout to Sophie McCorkle who escorted Raven Dixon!
Shepard's Breakfast
A few members volunteered to spend a Saturday morning out at Munsey's church to serve at the melting pot. The melting pot is a place that serves food to the homeless population of Johnson City. The members all had a blast serving and getting to know some people from our community.
Spaghetti Dinner
The club helped out with the annual Kiwanis Spaghetti dinner, but for the first time the event was held at DCHS. We always have a blast working this event and even with the new location the club still had a wonderful time bonding and working to serve the public.
Book Drive
This is the second book drive that the club has held. For the past two years members have brought in books for grades pre-k through 4th grade. We collect the books then read to some of the elementary school students through google meet. After reading the books to the kids, we divide the books up for the different participating schools then deliver those books to their new school.
Joy Prom
Our President, Raven Dixon, secured and organized for our club to have a spot to volunteer at Grace Fellowship Church's Joy Prom. This is an event for people with special needs of any age to have a prom experience. They have board games, photo booths, and, most importantly, a dance floor. We were all in the paparazzi group. We cheered the guests on as they entered and spent the night dancing and meeting a ton of wonderful, special people.
Tri-Cities Escapes
For our spring semester field trip, we got to return to the Tri-Cities Escape Game to try our luck in their escape rooms. The group pictured on the left sadly did not escape but came so very close. The group pictured on the right, however, escaped their room with fifteen minutes left. Escapees or not, we all had such a blast getting to spend the day together and continue to bond as a team.
