Advisor
Miss Poteet, from Blackwater Virginia, is the David Crockett Key Club Advisor among many other things. Along with being our advisor she owns her own baking company (www.cakepump.com), is a school counselor, and overall a fantastic example for her students. Her hobbies include baking, reading, traveling, and antiquing. She is the definition of having a servant's heart and is capable of seeing your most hidden potential and pulling it to the surface. She sometimes pushes you in order to see this potential shine, but she is always right beside you when you decide to jump. Her favorite saying is that sometimes we need to be uncomfortable to grow and that takes a daily part in our key club as we strive to serve our school, community, and world with that very saying in our minds. *written by your webmaster- Journey H.
President
Hi everyone! My name is Ava Sanders and I am honored to serve as the 2025/2026 Key Club President! I am a junior this year, and this is my 3rd year in Key Club. I am also an officer in Civinettes, a madrigal in our school choir, and I run track! In the future, I hope to go to college and get a degree, but I'm undecided about where or what field I will go into. In my free time, I love going to concerts, hiking, listening to music, reading, and spending time with my friends, family, and dog. Some of my favorite projects that we participate in are Joy Prom, Spaghetti Dinner, and Project Prom because they have all pushed me out of my comfort zone and forced me to grow in areas I didn't realize I needed. Key Club has been such a blessing to me these past 3 years because it's taught me how to be a leader, delegate tasks, and find my voice in everything I do. I'm beyond proud to be a part of this amazing club, and I'm so excited for this new opportunity!
Vice President
Hi y'all! I'm Journey Higgins and I have been elected this year's Vice President. I have been in Key Club for 2 years and I am in FFA, Student Council, Beta Club, Civinetts and I am a madrigal in Crockett's choir. After high school I have hope to attend Baylor University in Waco TX. I want to major in Veterinary Medicine and minor in Music Education. I then want to get a business degree so I will have the necessary skills to own my own vet clinic. I am a huge lover of music specifically 70's classic rock and gospel music. Anything involving Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, or the Journey Band is right up my alley. I also love animals, reading, cooking, going to church, and my huge family. I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve in the Vice President position. Key club has shaped my entire life and shown me what kind of person I want to be. I can't wait to see where this year takes us!

My future plans are to attend a 4 year college and a medical program in order to go into the medical field to be a pediatric oncologist! I have a dog, cat, and bunny! I love summer and shopping!! I love Jesus and spending time with my family! My favorite drinks are alani's! My favorite place to go is the beach and being in the sun!! I'm so grateful for this new adventure because Key Club has changed my life in so many positive ways already and I know so much more is possible! I wouldn't have the opportunities I have now if I wouldn't have stepped out of my comfort zone for this club and for that I'm extremely grateful! This year is going to go amazing and I can't wait for all of the new projects and opportunities that are going to be created with this amazing group of people! :)

Hi everyone! My name is Clara Whitson, I am a Junior here at Crockett, and I am so grateful to be your 2025-2026 Public Relations officer! I have been in Key Club for 2 years, I am also involved in FFA as the Secretary, DCHS Madrigals, Civinettes, and Girls Soccer. I absolutely love my two dogs, Hero and Liberty, and my horse, Blue. Key Club is so important to me because of the comfort it has shown me and that it has pushed me outside of my comfort zone in multiple ways. This club is one of my favorites just because of how warm and welcoming it is to every member and I hope to extend those warm welcomings to our new members and also use our social media platforms to show people how impactful Key Club is in our community. I am so excited to serve this club and can't wait to see all the exciting things everyone will do this year!
