Angel Tree
In our Angel Tree Project the club gets slips of paper that has a list of items of a Christmas wish for people who otherwise wouldn't have a Christmas gift. We then go to buy these items with money donated by the Fire Department.
Animal Shelter
During the Animal Shelter Project the club gets the opportunity to help out at the Greenville Human Society and play with the animals, clean kennels, and donate items like food and toys to the Shelter.
Anything But A Gingerbread House
As part of our Christmas Party members had a competition to see who could make the best gingerbread house out of items that were inedible.
Bus Driver Appreciation
In the Bus Driver Appreciation Project the club gets food items donated from BoJangles and makes goodie bags for our bus drivers. We are so happy to have a project dedicated to people in our school who do so much.
CDC Crafts
Our Key Club Members make an effort to visit our CDC students every month to do crafts and spend some quality time with them. This is a very important project to us and is very important to our Club.
For this years Christmas Party we had a grinch theme and all brought charcuterie boards with different items on them. We had the grinch playing in the background and brought alumni and exchanged gifts from secret santa.
Clothes Closet is a project designed to have donated clothes ready for students who need them at any time during the school day. The closet is organized in a way that makes it efficient and simple and is able to accommodate people of all shapes and sizes.
This year the club was able to get a Founders Park Tree. We decided to make it a giving tree. We made bags that had hygiene items like deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, hairbrushes and more. Then the homeless population could take what they needed off the tree for free. We are the first club to ever get a tree at Founders Park.
The officer team went to visit our Kiwanis supporters this fall. We are so blessed to have people support our club and it is such an amazing opportunity for us to be able to meet with them.
This year we had a new project called the Musketbowel drive to get food donated from the local food cites in order to raise food for the Washington County food pantry. We had a competition with Boone to see who could raise more (and were victorious) and even got onto the radio.
New member interviews are a stressful part of the year for the officer team but we love our new members so much and we are so happy with how the year is going already!
Nursing Home is another project that we do every month it is a great opportunity for our members to reach out to a population of people they don't normally get exposed to. We also have an annual Nursing Christmas Party.
Another new project this year was Operation Christmas Child. We had a drive to get items for more people in need for Christmas and then get to pack the boxes.
As part of our member meetings we have team building at the end. This is a way to get our members talking and more comfortable with each other in a fun environment.
