Welcome to the Tier 1 Implementation Page! In this section, you will find materials including power-points, step by step implementation guides, and other information focused on meeting your tier 1 implementation goals. Use resources in this section to help your team effectively implement universal strategies to help all students be successful. Each tab is aligned with the TFI features of implementation & is formatted to help your site achieve the California Bronze Award for Effective Tier 1 PBIS.

Tiered Fidelity Index (TFI): To provide a valid reliable and efficient measure of the extent to which school personnel are applying the core features of school-wide positive behavioral interventions and supports (SW-PBIS). The Tier 1 tab of this website is directly aligned with TFI features of implementation and is formatted to help your site achieve the California Bronze Award for Effective Tier 1 PBIS. When beginning to plan for Tier 1 implementation, it is important for teams to discuss these questions:

Do we foster restorative harm reduction and healing for our staff-to-student, staff-to-staff and school-to-community relationships?

Do we strive for a balanced representation of perspectives, voice, privilege, and positional power on the team?

Do culturally-based differences in language, speech, dress, religion, or gender expression shape perceptions about students’ ability?

Are our decision making processes for determining both the type and level of support, intervention, and resources implemented to ensure equity?
