Students also explore how businesses are managed and planned so that they can thrive in an ever-changing world and the impact that this has on our lives.
Assessment tasks in Business Studies often involve researching current businesses and their issues and trying to analyse the impact. Students are encouraged to think critically and engage in problem solving. Tasks are designed to develop the skills required for the HSC examination and for working in the business world. They include research projects, business reports, exams, tests and class presentations.
Most people either work in a business or operate their own business, so understanding how businesses are established, managed and run is helpful for career progression or profit making. Knowledge of your legal rights as an employee or an employer is critical to your long term success in the workforce. Many people who study business end up in very powerful and highly paid positions of leadership in business and government.
