Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity


We are currently learning about Biological Evolution: Unity and Diversity. In this unit we will looking at characterics of different types of animals: mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, insects and fish. We will study living vs nonliving things and the needs of living things. We will then investigate the habitats of plants and animals and look at how those habitats meet the needs of the plants and animals that live in them.

The Science curriculum in the Duffy School second grade classrooms focuses on the Next Generation Science Standards. The focus is on understanding the engineering proces as it relates to critical thinking, identification and solving of problems, design and implementation of investigations, working in groups, and communication of ideas.
