TRANSPORTATION
TRANSPORTATION
With trains, taxis, and Sheruts, you can get around without needing to drive! And each one of these modes of transportation provides its own unique, fun, and cultural experience! Each one is explained below in its own section, but here is a quick overview and comparison:
Taxi – most convenient, with pick up and drop off at destination, but most expensive (20-50 NIS in city; 70-100 NIS from Tel Aviv to suburbs)
Sherut – group taxi, fixed route, 6-8 lines within the city (6-8 NIS), up to Herzliya (10-12 NIS), and beyond to Netanya (14 NIS), route to Jerusalem (24 NIS)
Bubble Dan - Only in Tel Aviv/Ramat Aviv and works like a Sherut
Trains – 4 stops in the Tel Aviv/Ramat Aviv area, 1 stop in Herzliya, between cities (Jerusalem, Haifa, Acre, Beer Sheva, etc.)
