Integration Ideas

Classroom Blog Ideas:

*Use a general blog to reflect on learning and report to families (Every month I had the children write letters to their parents to explain what had been happening in the classroom. This could supplement/replace those letters.

*Keep a class mascot/stuffed animal. When children take it home they can blog about what they did with the mascot.

*Blog as a response to literature. This might be a good place for students to make connections to the text, (text-self, text-text, text-world).

Tips for Classroom Blogging

1. Parental permission is a must.

2. Have children sign their posts by using initials or nicknames, not their real names.

3. Moderate comments before they are posted to the blogs.
