Hi 5th Grade Students and Families!
The time has come to work on the 5TH GRADE PLAY!!!! I am very excited!!!
Given that we are at home, we need to structure the play a little differently.
The theme is "The Show Must Go On (Online)" and will include singing as well as acting, speaking, dancing, instruments, and artwork that can be made into a movie. Since we are rehearsing and developing this online, the format will involve creativity and practicing from the comfort of your own home or perhaps even outside. After collaborating with me you will create a video with your part of the show.
We will work together to make this play very creative and fun for all to participate!
#1: Please complete this survey and tell me how you would like to participate:

Hi 5th grade,
I hope you all had a chance to do something fun last week with your families!
This week, we will continue our focus on acting skills.
Please watch this video about speaking clearly so you can be understood! Speak Clearly!
Some of you sent me videos from the 1st assignment but I didn't receive very many.
If you already sent me one video, please pick a new monologue to work on and send me your newest video.
If you haven't sent me a video yet, please pick any monologue to work on, record it and send to me!
Remember to speak slowly and show confidence as you act out the lines of the script!

Hi 5th grade,
This week we will focus on acting skills. First, watch the link below for some acting tips. Second, read through the monologues and pick your favorite. Each monologue portrays a different kind of character. Think about how that character might act out the scene. Is the mood of the monologue serious, funny, sad, exciting? Practice reading it out loud many times while adding emotion, speaking slowly, and articulating your speech. Afterwards, record yourself performing one of the monologues and email it to me. If you are nervous about sharing your video please don't worry. I will not show your video to anyone and we are all learning and trying new things together! I will not be grading your video, I just want you to start to feel more comfortable performing. I cannot wait to see your creations!
