Ecommerce Payment Methods
No matter how great your e-commerce store may look and function, achieving success in your online endeavor majorly depends on how well your products are being sold to your customers. And to sell products, you’ll first have to win the trust of your site visitors. A payment gateway is a powerful tool that helps to reassure visitors of your store about your trustworthiness.
In essence, a payment gateway is an e-commerce service that allows merchants to accept credit card and other forms of Internet transactions securely via your website. Remember, if the payment options on your e-store aren’t set up in the right manner, you could suffer loss of orders placed on your store. This means you’ll experience a significant drop in sales, because of unsatisfied customers. Implementing the right payment gateways, however, can prove a key ensuring long-term success of your online business.
RECOMMENDED · STRIPE
STRIPE – Recommended for WooCommerce and Shopify Carts.
The Stripe plugin for WooCommerce allows you to take payments directly on your store via Stripe’s API, including Apple Pay for mobile and desktop.
Stripe is available in the United States, Canada, the UK, Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands and more. See exactly which countries Stripe supports.
Stripe is a simple way to accept payments online. With Stripe you can accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, and Diners Club cards, potentially Bitcoin, directly on your store. Stripe has no setup fees, no monthly fees, no hidden costs: you only get charged when you earn money! Earnings are transferred to your bank account on a 7-day rolling basis.
Stripe also supports the Subscriptions extension and re-using cards. When a customer pays, they are set up in Stripe as a customer. If they create another order, they can check out using the same card. A massive timesaver for returning customers.
SSL REQUIRED
In order to process credits cards directly on your site, an SSL Certification is required. This is the lock symbol in the browser address bar. It also adds "https" to your address. SSL Certificates run from free to thousands per month. We'll suggest three SSLs to meet your individual needs.
WHAT'S SSL?
Once the sensitive data is entered at checkout, an SSL service encrypts this data and sends to Stripe or another credit card processor. The data is never stored on our servers. SSL simply encrypts the data during transmission.
