This year the selection of after school activities has greatly increased. Last year many clubs were started, and this year they joined the Swift community for their first full year. Clubs like Student Council and Newspaper Club, kicked off the year with a start, having already had meetings. The Leo Club just recently had their induction ceremony. According to Cadence Kobelski it was a "success" and almost 50 students were induced into this important club. According to Ms. Murphy, one of the Leo Club advisors, Leo Club is a "community service based club for middle school students; is is a fun way to engage with the community." Swift clubs are a fun way to do something you love and be part of the Swift family. There are so many options for so many different people, each club is unique and there are so many to choose from. Now, let us bring you through a few of the diverse club options Swift has to offer.
Newspaper Club is a writing-based club that focuses on the school newspaper and perfecting it. This club usually meets on mondays, and the late bus is always available. This club is led by Ms. Lewis, and it is a stress-free club, to just relax and write.
Student Council is a committee of students that work together to create new ideas to help the school community. Student Council meets twice a month, also usually on Mondays. Student Council is run by Ms. Cunningham and is focused on helping our school.
Garden Club is a club were students come together to preserve and care for the gardens around Swift. They meet on the first Monday of the month in room 153. The club advisors are Mrs. Goetz & Mrs. Kociszewski.
Bucket Band is a music club run by Mr. Gorski that focuses on "rocking out" Don't worry if you don't have a bucket or sticks, materials will be provided. Gaming club is run by Mr. Palladino and is focused on having fun and mastering games.
