TEAMS is a sort of "Facebook for school," though only for academic purposes. You will be in one or more class groups that you can post to.
Each quarter you will read an additional book. Upon completion you may be required to post a short review on Teams. The book may be fiction or non-fiction, and you may read it with a partner. Some quarters the book may be assigned or limits may be imposed, but usually it will be your choice. If a book is assigned, you will have different requirements than what is described below. Regardless, it should be a challenging read, and I must approve it. (Go HERE for suggestion lists.)*
If you wait until the night before this is due and have issues logging into/posting on Teams, do not expect to be given an extension. Consider that you have nine weeks to accomplish this posting.
*If you would rather keep a Writer's Notebook or work on a long piece/ collection of your own writing rather than read an independent book, you
may do so.
TEAMS
BOOK REVIEWS
20 points
16 --> summary that does not appear to be a back cover blurb
4-->your detailed personal reaction (see below)
Your post should contain a
brief description (approx. 100
words) of the plot.
*Do not give away the ending.
(It should not sound like you
copied the back cover).
Include an explanation of
whether you liked the book
and why. Be specific and
detailed about your opinion
(include 3 reasons). "It
was good/bad!" is not detailed
or specific. Neither is "It was
well written."
Watch this for more on that:
