I hope that each and every one of you had a wonderful extended weekend! We loved having everyone back at the nest today!!
Friday will be our 100th Day of School! I can't believe we are already at that point in the school year. Time flies when you are having fun!! It is ok if you want to let your child dress up for this day. Sometimes students dress as old people, nerds, etc. We can't wait to see everyone and celebrate this milestone in our school year.
In April, our school is going for Legacy status with the Leader in Me program. We are creating a slide show to share with our guests to showcase all of the great things we have going on at North Warren and to show what our legacy is. We need your help!! Please fill this form out as soon as possible. We will probably start looking at these later on this week. Also, we are wanting to showcase our turtle that our school worked on last year in partnership with our Robotics team. This has been at our public library and at Mammoth Cave for the past several months. When we got it back a couple of months ago, we noticed that some of the green bottle tops had been taken off. I would appreciate it if some could be sent in so we can fill in the holes to make it look brand new.
Also, we are gearing up for our February PLC Day/Family Engagement. We will start these off on February 12th at our Valentine's Day party. We will be doing some "party time" but will also incorporate some student led conferences. Teachers will also be sending out sign up times for you to come in and talk about your child's progress, celebrations, and anything you need to help your eagle at home. The times will be Thursday, February 12th from 4:00-7:00 and Friday, February 13th from 8:00-12:00. Again, teachers will be communicating that with you in the coming days. I just wanted to go ahead and give you a heads up of what is coming. ;)
Please check the community events page. There are several things that I added this week. Thank you so much for all of your help and your partnership in making our school the very best!! We are lucky to get to work with you.

Our goal this year is to have 97% daily student attendance. With that said, teachers and the front office will be reaching out more often to check on your children if they are absent. Official letters will be sent home if a student has three, six, or ten unexcused absences. If a student reaches six or ten unexcused absences, then our truancy officer will be contacted. Parents get seven parent notes. If your child misses school, please provide a parent note or doctor's excuse within five school days of the absence. Also, please take note of our new truancy law for this school year. You may click here to read more about it.
