Substitute Opportunities
We appreciate your interest in applying to become a substitute for Walpole Public Schools. There are several opportunities to work as a substitute in our district including classroom teacher, paraprofessional, recess aide, school nurse, extended day assistants or food service technicians.
The first step in being considered for a substitute position is to complete one of the applications below and submit to hr@walpole.k12.ma.us. Once your application is received, one of our principals/assistant principals or directors will contact you for an interview. Once the interview process is completed, you will be sent an online link with new hire forms and instructions for fingerprinting and CORI background checks.
The current substitute rates are as follows:
DAY-TO-DAY SUBSTITUTE TEACHER AND ESP - $115 per day
DAILY RATE FOR BUILDING SUBSTITUTES - $115 per day
DAILY RATE FOR LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE (LTS) ESP - $135 per day (no degree)
DAILY RATE FOR LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE (LTS) ESP - $150 per day (BA Required)
DAILY RATE FOR LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE (LTS) TEACHER or (LTS) NURSE
Bachelor’s Degree - Year 1 - $200 per day
Bachelor's Degree - Year 2 (consecutive) - $225 per day
Master's Degree - Year 1 - $225 per day
Master's Degree - Year 2 (consecutive) - $250 per day
DAILY RATE FOR NURSE SUBSTITUTE - $160 per day
TEACHER AIDE, FOOD SERVICE, AND EXTENDED DAY SUBSTITUTES WILL BE PAID AT $15.41 PER HOUR FOR THE HOURS WORKED.
