GBPFLAG (Greater Boston PFLAG)

  • PFLAG, is the nation’s largest organization for parents, families, friends, and allies of people who identify as LGBTQ+. Offering support, education and advocacy, PFLAG works to create safe and inclusive schools and environments for LGBTQ+ people.

  • Since 1985, "GLAAD has been at the forefront of cultural change, accelerating acceptance for the LGBTQ+ community". Helping to lead society's narrative, GLAAD works with entertainment, media and digital news to increase awareness and acceptance of people who identify as LGBTQ+.

  • Educational organization committed to providing safe and affirming schools for LGBTQ+ students by providing developmentally appropriate training, programming and resources. By conducting national comprehensive research studies, they provide evidence-based interventions for schools (grades K-12) to help LGBTQ+ students and to improve school climates.

  • A community-building organization that works with and for the transgender community to end discrimination based on gender expression and identity. An excellent source for educational, legal, training and technical help.

  • A joint program between MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Mass Commission on LGBTQ+ Youth that was founded in response to the high risk behaviors of LGBTQ+ students, i.e. suicides, drug/alcohol use, etc. Safe Schools will work with schools administrators to help implement state laws protecting the rights of LGBTQ+ students as well as to provide training for educators and staff regarding school climate for the LGBTQ+ student community.

National

  • A leading, national organization working to create gender sensitive and inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ people, families, educators, and health care providers. An incredible wealth of information, support and resources for students, parents, allies and educators.

  • The largest LGBTQ+ civil rights organization in the country, HRC works to achieve equality for LGBTQ+ people where they have the same rights as all and can safely live open, honest lives in our country.

  • A national organization that works for full LGBTQ+ equality and inclusion in Jewish life.

  • Founded by Dennis and Judy Shepard in memory of their son, Matthew, who was murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in Wyoming in October 1998. Described as an “online village” that provides a variety of resources, regular blogs and interviews with people who are making a difference in their community; it also provides lists of outreach centers, shelters and empowerment programs.

  • A national organizing collective led by transgender women of color committed to empowering, advocating, promoting leadership and sharing the stories of transgender people of color.
