Mihi

A mihi is an acknowledgement of others. A mihi could be as simple as a greeting or as complex as the weaving of cultural and spiritual knowledge and metaphoric language into mihi whakatau to acknowledge the whakapapa connections and attributes of manuwhiri (guests) at a poowhiri.
