Matariki

Room 5, along with the rest of Waitohu School, has been learning about Matariki. It is very special time of year, not only in New Zealand but across many countries around the world. It has other names in these countries such as Sabaru in Japan.

It is celebrated in many different ways but usually involves time with family, music, dance and lots of kai. This week at school we are having a hangi and disco!
