Some guest educators from the Antarctic Heritage Trust provided us with a Virtual Reality experience of Hillary’s Hut in Antarctica. We were able to walk through each room and see some of the equipment that was used. We recreated the experience using Minecraft, screen and voice recording of the descriptions of the hut.
For inquiry, Ruru has learned that the ancient craft that carried the first settlers to New Zealand was probably double-hulled (like two canoes side by side). They are called waka hourua. They used Minecraft EDU to replicate the waka hourua.
Ruru has created their own pixel art using Minecraft education to show how to convert decimals, percentages and fractions.
Ruru 3 have written a moment in time about one of their favourite activities at Woodend camp and used Minecraft education to publish it.
