Staff's Role in Safely Returning to School

To stay in school, we must commit to the following:

Teachers:

  • Monitor students when they get to school (we will be sending students to classrooms so they are not in the commons or hallways)

  • Structure seating to allow for social distancing, all facing in the same direction if possible

  • Help students maintain social distancing when lining up, during passing time, etc.

  • High School students will pass from class to class in a clockwise rotation

  • Get students to lunchroom in a controlled manner

    • All teachers (PK-12) will walk students to the Commons for lunch

  • Ensure all students wash hands before and after recess.

  • Have students wash hands or use sanitizer to start each period

  • Sanitize desks and other surfaces using spray bottle at the end of each period

  • Assist with after school exiting and loading of buses

  • Wear masks to role model behavior when social distancing cannot be achieved and when in hallways

  • Ensure students wear masks appropriately (covering mouth and nose)

  • Create a classroom schedule for filling water bottles and restroom breaks that avoids large numbers going at the same time

  • All planning and instruction should be centered upon predetermined essential standards
