West Monona

Return to Learn Plan

Please take some time to read through this website.

It will be updated as we receive new guidance from the state.

What is our plan to return to school?

OUR GOAL: To create a plan for students and faculty to return to onsite instruction that is sustainable and mitigates risk factors for all involved.

Here are the highlights:

  • We will return to school on August 24, with a 1:30 dismissal time for the first week (8/24-8/28) in order to refine our plan, review assessment data, and build endurance in students.

  • We will be wearing masks as a requirement, with lots of scheduled breaks and other mitigation protocols in place to reduce exposure as much as possible.

        • West Monona will provide masks OR students/adults can bring their own clean masks from home.

  • We have THREE possible plans ready to be used, when and if needed:

        • Onsite Learning: All students are on campus

        • Hybrid Learning: Partly at school, partly online

        • Continuous Learning: All students attend from home, via online learning

  • We prefer the onsite learning option and will do all we can continue this format as long as possible!

  • For those students with health and safety concerns, West Monona will provide instruction to the home, through our continuous learning platform.

  • If you have a concern with full time, in person attendance and would like to discuss other possibilities please contact the school.

  • As guidance and situations change throughout the year plans may need to be modified.
