Most jobs and all colleges require applicants to have a high school diploma or GED equivalency diploma. This self-guided course is an introduction to the GED and the four subject tests - Reasoning through Language Arts, Mathematical Reasoning, Social Studies, and Science. Participants will become familiar with the format of the GED test and the TI-30XS calculator, review sample questions, and learn test-taking strategies.

This lab is designed to provide students with the support necessary to prepare for taking GED Languagy Arts, math, science, or Social Studies. We will loosely follow an outline that shifts depending on students' GED Ready results and questions.
Rolling enrollment: Students can join any time. The schedule varies.

The GED Math Lab is designed for students who have already taken the GED-Ready exam and received a score report. Each student will work independently using a personalized learning plan created based on their previous GED Ready results, allowing them to focus on specific skill gaps.
Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-7:00 PM beginning May 4, 2026

Tuesdays from 5:30-7:00 PM beginning May 5, 2026.
Students will complete an initial writing assessment that includes reading GED sample texts and writing in response to a GED essay prompt in response to those texts. The class will be highly responsive to student needs, using exemplary text and class discussions, and activities to help students build the skills necessary and improve their ability to comfortably write a GED essay in response to sample text.
Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00-2:30 beginning May 4, 2026.
This course is intended for students who are 144 and under on the GED practice test(s) in RLA, Science, or Social Studies. The focus will be on making inferences, analyzing text, and how identifying and using evidence in the text to understand arguments.
