This class is for English language learners (ELLs) at the Advanced level and above who want to improve their ability to communicate clearly and well here in Vermont--whether that means at work, at school, or simply as members of the community advocating for themselves and their families. The focus of this course is on reading, but the class is helpful for students in their writing and speaking as well. There are three sessions of English for Empowerment each year, and each has a different theme: in the fall, the focus is on Critical Reading Skills, in winter/spring, it is Critical Writing Skills, and in summer, it is Advanced Grammar.
