Intermediate Conversation

This class offers adult learners at the intermediate and advanced levels an opportunity to practice their conversational English.  We will emphasize speaking, listening, pronunciation, and some vocabulary.

Students will have advanced access to a short article each week and some discussion prompts.   Some of the questions/prompts will relate to that week’s reading while others will be general.

High Intermediate English

This course follows Burlington English and uses a text called The Grammar Review Book. The classes are supplemented with dictations, history & civics, grammar and conversational games, and other readings in various formats.

This class is for ELL students interested in the High-School Completion Program who need practice and help to prepare for success on the TABE assessment, starting at the E level.  All work will be focused on the Level-E material. The class is in the "flipped classroom" style, meaning that students will do assigned homework in order to learn about each topic, and when we meet on Zoom we will address their questions as well as additional information that builds on what they learned in the homework.

TABE-E Reading
