I grew up in the Henderson/Oxford area and currently live in Oxford with my husband Mark and our three children, Cara (14), Adam (12), and Lauren (6). I graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1999 with a Journalism degree. GO HEELS! I began a career in telecommunications and worked for 5 years before taking a break upon having my first child. I then began tutoring several students ranging in age from early elementary to high school. I decided to pursue a career in education and have been taking courses this past year to obtain certification.

I have had two careers in my life, one in the corporate world and one caring for and teaching children. Much divides these two worlds but nothing more than the difference in my enjoyment and overall personal satisfaction. I truly love working with children and am looking forward to meeting the new first-grade students at Voyager. This will be a wonderful opportunity for me to learn from such an amazing staff.

My hobbies include traveling, going on any outings with the kids, running, and reading.
