Dylan's journal entries are significantly less angry and violent than Eric's but still show signs of mental illness. His have more of a depressive and self-loathing theme than hatred of people like Eric's. Dylan seems almost angrier at himself than other people where Eric is the opposite. Dylan frequently discusses that he sees himself as an outcast and feels secluded from society, especially at school. Unlike Eric, Dylan's journal contains multiple pages talking about people he loves, mainly girls, which shows that Dylan at least had some rational thought and care for other people. Like Eric's, the journal contained many violent and disturbing drawings. This artifact is helpful in showing the psychology of one of the killers.
