Basement Tapes

The Basement Tapes are home videos recorded by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold before the shooting and is a glimpse into what the shooters were thinking and feeling. They discuss their anger towards the world and are seen showing off and shooting guns. During the March 15th and 18th film, they talk about their plans for the shooting and who they specifically want to target, usually popular kids or people of color. In most of the videos, the shooters are seen showing off their various guns and bombs that were used in the attack. The last video was filmed about an hour and a half before the shooting and includes Dylan's and Eric's final message which was an apology to their parents and very few friends. This is one of the most important pieces of evidence that shows why Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold killed 13 people and what they were thinking leading up to it.
