First, we reviewed the names "equation", "variable", "expressions", and the kinds of polynomials, etc. Then, we learned about distributing property, inequalities, and interpreting the results.
We did a practice on Ampify, for reviewing the words learned in class, it helped me learn by making me apply and identify the concepts.
I did a 4-page slide deck to introduce my project.
I am planning to save my allowance. I have $400 now, my allowance is $150 every week. I would write an equation to show how many weeks I need to save my allowance until I have $1900 to meet my savings goal. I found a cool Switch 2 console three weeks after I achieved my savings goal, so I needed to write an inequality to represent at least how many weeks of allowance I need to save (separate from my savings) to have enough money to buy a new console that costs $1790.
What I felt was challenging in the process was the part about creating a scenario, because there weren't many differences between the scenarios of my equation and inequality (it was changed twice from the first version).
It was surprising that I finished the project very quickly.
I could have tried to elaborate on scenarios that connect next time when I face similar tasks next time.
Unit 2 is about relations, where we learned ways to graph and find answers in a relation. For example, I can use inverse variation if I want to know how much time is needed to travel 150 km by 50km/h, and how it would take more or less time if I wanted to travel slower or faster.
I chose the "What Country Am I" and the graphing Desmos activity because they showed our learning process clearly, about how we learned to graph and calculate. I won't change anything if I get to do these again, since the two activities both have a certain correct answer, so there is no need to change.
My team helped me in certain ways (definitely not saying the truth that someone played Roblox in class), I am proud of our completion, and our presentation skills are also okay (probably).
And one thing to improve is that I think I could leave more opportunities for my teammates to cooperate, because we rushed through the whole project, and just finished everything
Looking back at this unit, I think I could have read the instructions more carefully, because our group totally forgot the piecewise function part, so we had to redo the whole thing, and it was a stressful disaster. I could improve by slowing down the pace next time and taking more time looking back at every checkpoint in the process.
