My goal this semester is to learn how to read/write better and to express my ideas in chinese more.
In this assignment, we need to summarize important events that happen in a book we are shown. This is my sheet that summarizes briefly each page.
For the 12th page I didn't have time to write down important details so I decided to write an equal sign to 11. If i could redo this assignment, I would improve that part. This assignment can actually link to Subjects like english and PBL, since we are discovering taiwanese advocacy, we need to learn how to look from another angle, and english because in writing its important to have multiple perspectives. Specifically, this can link to our PBL project since we're trying to make our audience see a scenario from the eyes of a migrant worker.
We didn't really have any teacher or peer feedback, but I think I can improve my time management skills since the reason I didn't finish writing 12 is because I ran out of time.
This was honestly very engaging to do in class, since I could read the text without trouble and the story was easy (for the most part) to comprehend. This is an exercise that helps my chinese literacy and writing.
In this assignment, we wrote our own stories in a children's book-like format, except that the theme was a serious social issue we were addressing. Mine was about the wealth/income gap in Taiwan (and solutions).
If I could redo this assignment, I would spend more time developing the dialogue and writing more. This really reminds me of my English final project, where I had to write a screenplay that had a lot of dialogue and storytelling as well, so I got to use concepts I learned there to help assist me in this project.
Or when in PBL we had to come up with stories and storyboard them, where I also had to implement my knowledge of story writing from this and English class. For feedback, the teacher graded and gave me feedback on areas in my story, which helped me improve my writing and Chinese in general.
