Hi everyone,

We hope you are all keeping safe and well. We have outlined more work suggestions for the coming week and please remember that this work is a suggested guide and use it like a menu.

Thank you for all your wonderful work. It’s lovely to hear from you all. Ideally, we would like to hear from every child in our class every week, with a picture of your work or just an email to say “Hi”.

Oral Language activity:

The following questions should be answered orally with your parent’s assistance and there is no requirement to write the answers.

What is the author’s name?

Do you like the illustrations?

Did you like the story? Why?

Where does the story take place?

List and describe 3 animals that the children brought into school.

Why were the children scared of Penelope?

Explain how the children’s feelings change towards Penelope the Python.

Which words/phrases tell us that Miss Bloat dislikes animals?

Where did Miss Bloat disappear to?

If there was a bring your pet/toy to school day in your school what pet/toy would you bring to school?

Why would you bring that pet/toy to school?

Writing activities:

Retell the story There’s a snake in my school in your copy. Draw your favourite part of the story.

Guidelines:

Write at least 12 sentences.

- These sums have 2 steps.
- Show each step clearly
- Always ask yourself do I add or subtract?

Complete the Math Maze below. The answers are in red. The rules are:

Students solve the addition problems in each of the bubbles.
Colour in ONLY the bubbles that add to the “super sum” at the top of the page which is 12.
Once the correct bubbles are coloured in, there will be a path of connecting bubbles from the START to the FINISH
Pathways do not travel at a diagonal. There will always be a bubble above, below, to the right, or to the left that adds to the super sum to let the path continue.

Charades

Charades is a game of pantomimes: you have to "act out" a word or phrase without speaking, while the other members of your team try to guess what the word or phrase is. The objective is for your team to guess the phrase as quickly as possible. In this case the team can be your family.
