Hi everyone,

We hope you are all keeping safe and well. We have outlined more work suggestions for the coming week and please remember that this work is a suggested guide and use it like a menu.

From your pictures in our Super Student’s Work we can see that you are staying active, helping around the house and doing lots of fun activities.

Thank you for all your wonderful work. We have posted your work on the class blog and wow you are all doing great keep it up!. We would love to see more of your work. Ideally, we would love to hear from every child in our class every week, with a picture of your work or just an email to say “Hi”.

Our school is participating in a Weaving Well-Being Rainbows Moments survey. We would be grateful if you and your child could take some time to create a positive moment together before the end of the week and complete the survey. We can’t wait to hear all your answers. Complete the Math Maze below. The answers are in red. The rules are:

Students solve the addition problems in each of the bubbles.
Colour in ONLY the bubbles that add to the “super sum” at the top of the page which is 11.
Once the correct bubbles are coloured in, there will be a path of connecting bubbles from the START to the FINISH
Pathways do not travel at a diagonal. There will always be a bubble above, below, to the right, or to the left that adds to the super sum to let the path continue.

This week you can learn the song Skip to my Lou at home. It is a simple call-and-response song meaning you repeat what you hear.

Start by listening to the song by pressing play on the video link.
Try singing the song through twice using the lyrics.
Once you feel comfortable with the song, you can try to learn the lyrics.
You can start and stop the video to go back over the lyrics from each section.
Once you’re confident with the lyrics, try singing it through without looking at the lyrics.

Also listen to the song You’ve got a friend in me by Randy Newman and sing along to the words using the lyrics provided.

Tongue Twisters

Before performing, actors should always warm up their voices. Here are a few tricky tongue twisters to get you using all your facial muscles. Stand up and say them good and loud as if you were on a stage. Say each one at least 5 times in a row.

Children of Lir

The picture is when Lir learns of Aoife’s evil spell. Lir returned to the castle. He was furious! He tries to convince Aoife to reverse the spell but she is not prepared to do this. He banished his wicked wife from his Kingdom forever.

In pairs you are going to take on the roles of Aoife and Lir in this scene.

Directions:

Get a partner (either a brother or sister or an adult).
There are two characters Aoife and Lir.
Decide who is Character A and who is Character B.
Allow 5-10 minutes to plan, then get your scene up on it’s feet!
